ESL Classes are FREE to attend
The OACES ESL Program offers adults with limited English language proficiency a variety of language learning opportunities to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Beginning to advanced classes are offered day or evening by experienced and qualified teachers. Instruction is tailored to the individualโs needs, including those who are preparing to enter the workforce and/or higher education. Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to: conversation, grammar, computer, vocations, and life skills.

To enroll in the ESL Program:
The directions for our ENL intake process have changed. They are now as follows:
- Walk-in registration: Mondays only, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (students who come to OACES as walk-ins any other day will be given an intake appointment for the following Monday)
- Agency client registration: by appointment only, Monday – Thursday
- Orientation class: Tuesdays, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm in Room 208
- The orientation class is mandatory for all new registrants. Students will be given class assignments on Wednesdays only. They must bring an outcome folder to class for admittance
- Intake is closed on Fridays for data processing
- Classroom rosters are capped at 35 students. If a student does not come to class for two weeks, they will be made inactive and have to re-register if they come back to school. The intake office will keep a waiting list to fill available seats
