Who is this for?
Students 16* or older in a High School Equivalency Diploma Program, with a Practice Test Score of 2500 or better (*restrictions apply)
What is it?
Without the High School Equivalency Diploma, it is very hard to get a job. OACES’s testing staff will make sure you are ready to take the test and give you an application to take the exam. Once you receive an admissions letter from the NY State Education Department, you can schedule to take the test.
How can I be successful?
You have to register for the New York State High School Equivalency Diploma that is offered monthly at OACES and attend the two days of testing. Make sure to be on time and focus on your exam while you are here. Remember to leave your problems at the door and follow the Rochester City School District Code of Conduct.
How do I know I have been successful?
Success is getting your diploma from the NY State Education Department. Now you can continue your career training or look for a job.
