IMG_1698-e1397488746725-682x1024OACES offers adult classes to improve education and language skills. Classes available for English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE) or Adult Secondary Education (ASE).

Who is this for?

Anyone 17 or older with limited English skills who wants to improve their literacy skills; or anyone who is without a high school diploma; or anyone who wants to improve their reading and/or math skills.

What is it?

  • Speaking better English makes it easier to understand others.
  • Better English and math skills will help you secure employment, obtain your High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, and gain citizenship.
  • Classes are Monday-Thursday during the day 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or in the evenings 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

How can I be successful?

To be successful you must attend, be on time, and participate. Focus on your educational goals while you are here which means leaving your problems at the door and following the Rochester City School District Code of Conduct.

How do I know I have been successful?

You will meet your goals when you gain your High School Equivalency, your English has improved, or your language, math, or reading tests shows improvement.
